Great place for a stopover on our way to Cornwall. Easy to find with easy parking and a good breakfast. Room was clean & tidy with a great shower! It is located right on the A35 so if you’re looking for peace & quiet this may not be for you. We found it ok as we were exhausted from a long drive.

Really nice pub just outside Dorchester. Friendly staff that were helpful. The food is simple, yet very tasty and the carvery on Sunday was an unexpected treat when we got back from a day out.

Diese Unterkunft war die schönste/ beste auf unserer 2-wöchigen England-Rundreise. Wir sind sehr früh angereist und konnten für den Tag unsere Koffer im Hotel stehen lassen. Abends haben wir dann eingecheckt. Die Dame, die uns empfangen hat, war sehr freundlich und hat uns persönlich ins Zimmer geführt und alles gezeigt/ erklärt. Das Zimmer war sehr groß, sehr modern und trotz des Fensters zur Straße haben wir vom Straßenlärm nichts mitbekommen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Wir konnten uns von der Karte bestellen, was wir mochten. In dieser Unterkunft gibt es nichts zu bemängeln, wir waren ganz begeistert und traurig, weil wir nur eine Nacht dort verbracht haben.

We we’re made comfortable from our first arriving. Very friendly, helpful staff, lovely room and a super meal in the evening. Breakfast was hearty with lots of options. It set us up well for our busy day in the beautiful area. We would love to return and spend much more time there when possible. Thanks to the great staff.

Good, friendly service. Some of the car park area could do with a tidy. Window broken (which they told us about and wasn't a problem). Couldn't get heating working. Bit noisy as it's on a main road. Enjoyed the food.

Family overnight stay and meal.
Newly refurbished rooms and inn were an absolute joy to be in. We stayed on a Sunday on our way back from a staycation in Cornwall and it was the perfect end to a family holiday. The Coach House inn features a very well stocked bar a varied menu and friendly staff. The Sunday roasts were epic and the included breakfast the next morning possibly the best I’ve had in any hotel. I’ve driven past this place before and hadn’t really considered stopping before. It’s definitely worth a look. A joy to visit and stay at. Highly recommended.

The property has recently been refurbished, the room was spacious and clean with nice tea and coiffed choice. Nice big tv. Good sized bathroom with rain shower. The bar area was really nicely done and breakfast was really good and tasty and plenty of it for us.

Lovely old coaching inn, newly refurbished
Lovely old pub and coaching inn which has been newly refurbished. Lovely room and bathroom. Bathroom could do with more shelf space for wash-bags and hanging towels, but all in all very nicely done. Excellent Dorset-sourced food.

Coach & Horses Inn is located in small village. We had family room for 1 night on Sunday during last May weekend. Like in any other B&B Pub you have to ckeck-in before 8-9pm. Otherwise the Pub is closed and you will not get in. Please remember about that when you book this place. Our room was after a renovation so looked nice. The bathroom needed some upgrades but for 1 night didn't bother us. It was a message in the bathroom about wasting water and what you shouldn't do but if you want to get a shower's hot water you have to wait about 10-15 minutes. So not clever idea for saving the water. I suggest the owner to fix the shower asap. Also the bathroom should be more clean cause I could easily see dust. The room was located in the end of corridor on the first floor. It was free wi-fi but in this last room we couldn't get the signal. Also noise from the street woken us up in the morning at 6am. The breakfast was not bad. I had better ones but also worst so this one was just average. I would definitely come back to this b&b but will take more quiet room with good wi-fi signal.

Pleasant Hotel. Friendly Staff
Room was practical and served the purpose, however the shower was poor. The hotel is mid way through a renovation process and you can see that major investment has been made, but more is needed. If you work late, beware as week nights the restaurant tends to shut early or at least it did when I was there at which point you will have to drive to the nearest place to eat.
