"Excess Venice is an absolutely wonderful property with so much charm. We were pleasantly upgraded at check‑in, which made our stay feel even more special. The private garden is beautiful and gives the hotel a peaceful, intimate atmosphere you don’t often find in Venice. The service at breakfast was truly over the top — warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. A fantastic stay from start to finish."

"Firstly, I’ve traveled extensively and never complained about a hotel but this have one was really bad. Hotel staff at front desk unwelcoming and rude. Shockingly poor experience compared with all the other hotels we stayed at in Italy. Our room smelled oppressively like cologne or chemical scent. Clearly they’re masking other smell. It smelled so bad I got an headache and our clothes smelled for hours after only 30 minutes in the room. Also the Bathroom smelled oppressively heavily of...

"Lovely hotel, previously stayed when it was Lacanda san Barnaba and the upgrade is really great, whilst still keeping the originsl ceiling frescos and other features. Great new updsted bathrooms. Great communal areas as well as fab breakfast. Only slight niggle was not much hanging space and no drawers but easily manageable. Overall a great stay"

"Very hot water and large fluffy towels. Excellent bathroom facilities. Comfortable large bed. Hotel had character with pictures and artefacts and was generally a peaceful environment. Staff generally pleasant and helpful. Only had one breakfast which was fine. Air conditioning is not switched on until the "summer" but it was very warm during our stay and it would have improved our sleep experience if the room had been cooler. Unfortunately the bar was not open which could have been useful. Nice...
