"The guest house was as we expected it. Nice and clean, whoever painted it over the last couple of years did a really nice job. Well positioned the everything. The pub around the corner was good to visit for a drink. We were met by John when we arrived and found him delightful to talk to. "Our recent family stay at The Carlton was very disappointing. The room was stiflingly hot, making it nearly impossible to sleep comfortably. Cleanliness was a major concern the carpet was heavily stained, and the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned between guests—we even found a used toilet roll on the floor. To top it off, there was no hot water for our evening showers. We expected a much higher standard of hygiene and comfort for a family trip and left feeling very let down.""
