"Great place to stay in Salem! Very clean, well maintained. Typical Hampton Inn , comfy bed, clean sheets. Towels a bit on the older side and rough- but clean. Very helpful staff.
Breakfast though was average, hard bagels, will work for folks who don't care...We got breakfast once and that was enough- went out for breakfast next day. Property has a pool and filtered water stations for your bottle. The gift shop in the lobby has water, quick snacks, medicine, hygiene necessities and gifts....
"It's a lovely hotel, but it is over 100 years old. When we went to have an after dinner drink in the tavern, I saw a field mouse run across the room. Nobody seemed too concerned."
"Everything was lovely. Great owners. Be aware that Salem does not allow for inns to cook full breakfasts for guests. If you are allergic to or sensitive to cats, be aware that the owners have several cats."
"Walking to downtown Salem was safe. Only a microwave in the office wasn't ideal for a multiple day stay. There was upgrades to the property that will when done be a serious plus. Ice machine needs replacement or service and maybe another one next to the linen closet at the other end of property. We bought ice at local store. Overall staff was great"
