"I recently stayed at the Luxor in Las Vegas and wanted to share my experience to help future travelers.
If you're planning a trip to the Luxor, my biggest recommendation is to avoid the Pyramid rooms and spend the extra money for a Tower room if possible.
We upgraded to a Pyramid Suite at check-in, expecting a nicer experience, but the room was extremely disappointing. It looked like it hadn't been updated since the 1970s. The room was dirty, dusty, and showed significant wear and tear. The mini-fridge didn't work, there was no TV remote, and the overall condition of the suite was unacceptable. The yellow popcorn ceilings, outdated furnishings, and worn Jacuzzi tub made the room feel old and neglected rather than simply vintage.
At approximately 11:00 PM, I contacted the front desk and spoke with a manager. To his credit, he was professional, courteous, and immediately helped resolve the situation by moving us into a Tower room. The difference was night and day. The Tower accommodations were much newer, cleaner, and significantly more comfortable.
The staff deserves credit for handling the issue properly, and I appreciate the manager's willingness to make things right.
Another disappointment was the limited dining availability. During our stay, several restaurants appeared to be closed, including the steakhouse and cafe, and Starbucks closed early. Finding a decent meal within the hotel was difficult, forcing us to leave the property to eat."
