"Have stayed in the Burlington Hotel many times. Food always good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately this time we stayed, our room was not serviced in the 4 days were stayed,( other guests stayed a week and room not serviced) although staff at reception happy to give you toilet rolls, tea, coffee and milk for room."

"NOT HAPPY AWFUL 1 NIGHTS STAY £189.00. Paid extra for breakfast. Over priced for a box room with no windows and very noisy ventilation in bathroom. It was during the heatwave so the fan in room was useless. They need to install air con. Had to leave entry door open to get some cool fresh air. Edges in room were dusty, Double bed against the wall so only one side to access bed! Bedside table damaged. Restaurant staff unfriendly. Awful stay. Worst ever experience of a hotel stay!"

"This hotel is a really convenient place to stay when visiting Eastbourne, the water pressure isn’t that great but it’s relatively clean and stuff are helpful. They were happy to provide us with bands as it was particularly hot."

Just a couple of points to mention which was why I have only 4/5. - Room and en-suite smaller than expected, but still nice and comfortable - Breakfast was lovely, but would prefer being able to self serve juice and tea/coffee. Also a full English breakfast should use real sausages, rather than tiny chipolatas - Biggest issues was noise with voices and bathrooms clearly audible from other rooms late and night and early morning."

"The Cumberland is a great little hotel, we stayed two night for the air show and we had a brilliant time. The rooms were clean and well maintained, we had a partial sea view room which was really nice and an inland accessible room which was spacious with twin beds which worked well for us. The staff were really friendly and extremely helpful. I contacted them before arriving to make sure that they were okay accommodating my dad electric wheelchair. We had a slight issue with the WiFi and...

"I specifically booked this hotel because it has a lift and my mum cannot do stairs. We were attending a special family celebration and wanted to stay the night to make a weekend of it. When we arrived at the hotel, the lift was broken - the steps to the first floor were exceedingly steep and narrow - my poor mum was absolutely unable to climb them. There were no ground floor rooms available so we had to cancel the booking and are going through the Expedia complaints process to get a refund....
