Stayed in a single room. Spacious and had a mini fridge, which was excellent as I could get fresh milk for my tea and coffee and also keep snacks and chocolate cold in the hot weather. It was greatly appreciated.

Property is a little dated, but obviously it was grand in it's prime. Friendly staff and very accommodating. Beautiful area and scenery. Hoe ever I don't suppose in this climate they have a spare couple of millions to get the place back to it's glorious prime and if I'm being honest I have stayed in much worse

The single room sea view i booked was infact £40 dearer and overlooked the car park. One pillow for the bed. No housekeeping. Toiletries and refreshments had to be got from reception. The one time i went into the bar the bartender seemed unbothered i was waiting to be served and whilst he was pouring my drink i saw an ant crawling over the bar. Yes its an older building but it needs what facilities it does have looked at.

Absolutely shocking I booked 2 night stay but after first night I just wanted to leave. The room was so old, smell of urine very old and dated. The night was unbearably hot with a small old fan blowing hot air couldn’t sleep all night. The property is very very dated with ceiling cracks and damp everywhere. Never use this again.

No daily housekeeping, none at all. If you want clean towels or anything you have to get from front desk. You have to leave garbage in the hallway which often goes hours before being removed (after letting staff know right away and reminding them). There is no room service. The hotel bar which serves food is only open from 6:30-11:00 (unless they randomly open or close early) Food in the hotel bar can only be ordered between 6:30-7:45 (we didn’t try as it looked very basic) Hotel breakfast (which is not included) is dismal. Instant coffee from a machine that only fills the tiny mugs half way, undercooked fried eggs, watery pale scrambled eggs, canned fruit, mushrooms in pool of oily water, tiny croissant (looked packaged) was only pastry. Sausages and bacon ok, tomatoes sour. Overall poor at best. Paint chipping off walls, curtains missing and window painted over in our room (a little care and this room could have been incredible as it had a sea view and balcony and was quite large) but it looks like care and upkeep have slipped. Exterior of hotel also badly needs a paint job/ minor repairs. This is a historic hotel which should be night and day better if not great. They are obviously cutting as many corners as possible to save money and maximize profit. They even offer rooms with no windows/rooms in the basement (shocking to see even offered). Staff was however friendly overall but again all these issues seem to be caused due to poor management of this property.

There was no tea coffee facilities but there was a kettle ,what's the point we both tripped over the step going to the bathroom and the biggest was finding the room was a pain
