"Room was fine, beds comfy; pool lovely; food surprisingly good. However, we had issues with housekeeping. They didn't come two of our four days (I checked -- housekeeping was supposed to be daily), despite knocking on our door early every morning. The third evening, we returned to our room after a long day out to find our room deadbolted OPEN. My daughter and I were scared, but thankfully no one was in our room and things like her laptop weren't stolen. But it was rather disconcerting and rattling. The room was half-cleaned -- the housekeeper clearly got called away and then forgot to come back, but leaving the room deadbolted open is crazy."

"Was floating around the Monterey Bay area and landed in Santa Cruz after a day of traveling. Booked here on impulse and it was fine value for the price. Staff was friendly and the location is solid - just a couple blocks off of the beach with street parking in the vicinity. Very safe feeling neighborhood. Some portions of the street are restricted to permit parking - so check carefully. They do offer onsite parking, but I opted to pay the meter during operating hours and saved ten bucks. Facility was clean and the breakfast was way above par here! Appreciated leaving on a full stomach and ready for another day of hiking. Some of the other guests were on the loud side of things - and this must be a perennial issue as we observed an 8.5 x 11 memo in the entry warning guests of nuisance noise charges potentially up to $150. A bit annoying since this night was a rest night on our trip. There's also a nuisance technology issue - iPhone can not connect to the TVs if you want to stream some form of entertainment, unless you travel with some sort of HDMI dongle, count on sitting with some basic cable option for entertainment. Rooms are sort of sparsely decorated but at least they have ample space, and it doesn't feel claustrophobic. All in all, a fairly average experience here. If I could do it over, I'd probably just spend the extra forty or fifty bucks to book at the La Bahia or Marea Sol hotels on the main drag. "

"The property is in a great location, the rooms are super roomie and comfortable! Great views! I would stay again!"

"Parking was easy. Floors were not clean. They were swept, but not mopped. Our feet turned black after a couple of hours. I would say this place is stingy. Probably because Santa Cruz is a touristy place. No early check in unless you pay. It was less than an hour before check in and our toddler needed a nap. They offer free coffee and tea in the morning, but no liquid creamers like coffee mate. It was an average hotel. Beds seemed clean. "

"Parking is exorbitantly expensive and there’s no alternative, but the facility is nice and clean and it was good for a few day staff."

"We were allowed to check in early since our room was ready. The staff were very considerate. Kids enjoyed the stream near the shore. There were a lot of shower areas where you could wash your feet before you go back to your room. The location was perfect, walking distance to the braodway. "
