I like the location , that was very convenient and quiet . It was easy to get to attractions by foot and transportation. The room was nice, but couldn’t open the windows. Also, it was on the top floor, that was fine with me, but would be difficult to get up and down with luggage for elderly persons. I don’t like the fact ,that it was no person at the desk to communicate with. I had problems with entering the hotel and confused with the codes and keys using. I don’t remember seeing that in description before I booked the hotel, otherwise I would not buy it.

Not that easy to get in. We had issues with the code and the door key broke in half!. But staff on phone were very helpful. In that area having a car is an issue Q park is close, there is no loading zone and parking attendants move you on quickly if you park in permit zones. Also note there is no elevator. It is a good location for everything , Royal Mile and castle close.

It would be helpful that the hotel add to property details that there is no reception that checkin needs to occur before arrival. When I tried to use the tv it asked me to sign in with an account. I didnt contact customer service because Tv wasnt a priority. Thanks for a great stay.

Going in, we knew we were not going to a 5-star resort. However, the listing boasts a whole bunch of restaurants “on-site” while there are none. For sure, there is a ton of restaurants and bars at proximity - we went for breakfast 4 days in a row to 4 different places that were all within 3-minute walk. Supper also presented a challenge of choice (too many to choose from in the neighborhood), but still… these were not on-site. The hotel itself is very charming with its look from another era - creaking floors, low handrails, high ceilings, wide trims, etc. Our showers leaked on the floor if the shower head was directed at the wall, and the shower head’s hose leaked also, it could not be redirected and its holder was cracked - a bit disappointing since a fix would only be a few pounds. This being said, with the hotel being a 10-minute walk from the train station and the Royal Mile, the location could not be better. In summary, if you are looking for an affordable pied-à-terre, where you will not spend too much time in the room, but want something close to the action, this hotel is an acceptable choice.

Zero service, zero staff, zero breakfast. 65 round stairs to the top floor. Closet bathroom and closet shower for all 3 rooms on the floor to share. Was clean and close to everything.

The location is great and the room was clean. I'm not sure what amenities there are; coffee and tea in the room maybe? There really is no staff. If you have a problem you can reach someone via the phone in the lobby but that only works on the time. This is a digital check in and operation.

The hotel is conveniently located and close to the mall, shops and bus stops so we only have to walk to get to our bus tour, and airport bus. The hotel is clean. The only negative thing I can say is the room was hot and stuffy because the radiator heater was on. The knob was broken so we cannot even do anything about it. We had to open the windows to let the cool air in. Other than that I have no complaints. This is not a hotel but more like Airbnb since there are no staff around.

Our room was on the forth floor and there is no elevator. So we had to carry our luggage up all of those small twisty carpeted steps. Not fun and not possible for my elderly mother. They also had our room clean early but wouldn’t let us in it early to leave our luggage. No very helpful. Also our bathroom was the size of a closet with a very small phone booth for a shower. Not great but clean for a short stay.
