"Barlovento is a gem near Tayrona. One almost doesn’t need to leave the property to get the real jungle beach experience. However, it is a perfect home base for your adventure. The accommodations are very comfortable and quiet. Just watch out for the “no see ums” insects that get through the mosquito nets in the cabana, but this is true everywhere. Also the ocean is very loud at the cabana but earplugs make it more of a soothing background noise. Overall one of my favorite places to visit and...

"We had a lovely, short stay at Finca Barlovento. The property is beautiful, the atmosphere is restful and the overall feeling is very private and low-key, with a high level of service. The staff was very conscientious and accommodating. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Food offerings are good, though somewhat limited, but we were only there for a couple of days so this was not really an issue. "Although the outdoor space of the property was great, the accommodations were dark, cemented wall, shower curtain bathroom door, musty door and beds were like sleeping on plywood. The food was average in price and quality in restaurant but no coffee available until 8 am. I paid for 4 nights and after 2 nights I was struggling with the musty smell and asked for partial compensation back for the unused portion of my stay and they said no.."
