"The property was very dated, with a need of a deep clean and decor update. Carpets were stained and our particular room had a unpleasent smell. Overall the property has seen better days, I guess this is reflected in a lower than average room price for the area. Staff however were very friendly and although we did not eat a main meal, the portions looked generous and other guests appeared content. "Arrived to find the place locked up and had to make a phone call for someone to come to the pub to give us our room key. Apparently there was a problem of having no electricity due to the heat. No evening meal available and no bar; breakfast was average, with some folk having to wait a long time for service. The place was clean and room was comfortable."

"The room was clean beds comfortable en suite good. Cleaned every day biscuits tea replenished daily. Tha accommodation is on a busy road and many lorries till midnight and again from 5am very noisy if windows open which is necessary as no air conditioning in the room."

"The Guinness Arms had character rooms and the hallway was just as nice. Our room had aircon and also a skylight which had retractable blinds if you wanted to look at the sky or not. Room was clean and cosy with coffee and tea facilities. A bottle of water was also supplied with a selection of biscuits. Iron and board in cupboard for those who want to sort the creases out. "Lovely old building and staff were amazing. So friendly. Breakfast was also really lovely. However it was soooo hot in our room. Unbearable in fact. Not the hotels fault and they did provide fans. But the windows barely opened and the fans only circulated hot air. Maybe just stay in the winter!"
