Hotel Anthracite
8/10 Good
"This hotel is a great place to stay, decorated with mining memorabilia, which is a nice nod to the region. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The beds are very comfortable. My negative comments are that the towels are not soft and fluffy, they feel like rags (sorry!). The situation with the TV is lame too. The only way you can watch TV is by logging in with your own subscriptions, there is no local cable or TV offered. The hotel was pretty dead when we were there, not sure how much business they get so maybe that's why the cable isn't available. The complementary breakfast is not fresh - it's all frozen prepared foods - but the woman who worked the breakfasts was extremely friendly and attentive, and always kept our coffee full. We ate dinner one night in the restaurant and it was very good."

The Chatwal Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"My husband and I stayed at The Chatwal Lodge (about two hours from NYC) and it’s easily one of the best resorts we’ve been to. It feels incredibly private and secluded—it seemed like there were only ~20 guests on property—so the whole experience was calm and special.
We booked the Treehouse, which was awesome: modern, spotless, and beautifully designed with a great vibe. Since it’s all-inclusive, we didn’t have to worry about extra charges, which made it truly relaxing. The non-alcoholic welcome “champagne” was a great touch and actually tasted really good.
The food was outstanding with plenty of options—honestly Michelin-star level in quality. The warm ciabatta bread at dinner was so fresh and tasty.
There are also lots of activities. I attended yoga, a sound bath, and Pilates—everything was well run and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Walking around in nature was a perfect reset. The staff were consistently warm and welcoming. At night, the firepits/bonfire felt amazing. One small improvement: the s’mores kit was a bit stale, so upgrading the freshness would make it better.
Two suggestions: consider moving the sound bath to the afternoon (it fits the “drift off” vibe and would spread activities out), and provide a printed activity schedule + locations for easy reference. Highly recommend overall."

Hotel Wayne
2/10 Terrible
"The place was horrible the bathroom was so small you had to step over the toilet to get to the shower. You have to leave the door open to even go to the bathroom. Extension cords everywhere in the room to run tv lights and space heater.
The light fixture was falling out of the ceiling I want a refund and so glad you asked for a review. "

Kenoza Lake View Manor
