"It was the cutest modern motel. My husband and I last-minute planned a getaway to Detroit Lakes for our anniversary. I found Beachfront Haven on the “Visit Detroit Lakes” website in places to stay. It was clean, cute, cozy, affordable, and we felt safe in the area. It is across the street from the lake, surrounded by amazing restaurants. We would absolutely stay here again!"

"Dangerous- no protocol or care for guest safety. My mother and I had a very pleasant stay at another Country Inn and Suites in Ohio the night before, so last night on our journey we chose this one. Boy did we have an awful night. The guest next door got extremely inebriated and we were awoken to him pounding on our door aggressively and shouting at 2am. After speaking with the front desk, it turned out he lost his key but was also wandering around without pants, barefoot, with very muddy feet...

"The photos of the room were a stretch to say the least.  1-The room was very small.  2-The bathroom is tiny.  It contained the commode and a small tub with a shower head.  The tub is not something that older people could navigate comfortably.  3-The bathroom sink was located outside the bathroom with NO counter space.   4-We had to hunt for the ice bucket 5-There was NO coffee maker 6-THERE WAS NO CARPETING IN THE ROOM.    7-The bathroom fan and the A/C were old and clunky. 8-The location was...

"This place goes downhill every single year. We stay with a group for Christmas for the last 15 years. Wallpaper is peeling, you are charged for a “resort fee” but the pools aren’t even always working. Dining is subpar. Rooms are very dated and getting worse every year. I think it’s time for our family to move on from thumper pond. "
