Quiet hotel occupying so much land in the middle of nowhere, it's a bit of a trek from the top of the complex where you enter to the beach, 3 lifts and 2000 steps lower. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the rooms are fantastic, the choice of food in the evening is great and the breakfast is a very pleasant experience on the terrace outside, overlooking the pool. "This was the second year in row that I stayed at the XQ El Palacete. I travel a lot for business and leisure and I believe this is one of the best hotels in Europe. "I stayed in a newly renovated Privilege Room, which had access to a private lounge and restaurant offering à la carte menus and breakfast options each day. This add-on was a nice touch and provided a quiet place to enjoy meals away from the busy buffet restaurant. I also liked the spa and the range of treatments. However, all the beaches surrounding the hotel (including the hotel beach at Playa Esmeralda) attract nudists. I found this to be very unpleasant."
