"Spotless!!! Comfortable - no complaints!!! Looking forward to another stay there when antiquing in CT."

"Lobby is in good shape, breakfast was also fine. The hallways and doors and stairwell are really beat up and dingy. The room was ok, but our AC unit was rusty, bent and dirty but it did work. The worst was other guests smoking weed in their room and in the doorways to the property. The hallway smelled terrible. Highly recommend don’t stay there just because it’s budget."

"When arriving to the hotel, it seemed pretty clean. Checked in and got directed to the side door for the closest entrance to the room. When entering the building it smelled of dog and you could instantly tell people were living in the hotel, however when getting to the room it was surprisingly clean."

"The room was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The pool is around back and you have to walk all the way around the building to get to it but that said though not convenient, it was private back there. Shower was adequate but not great. All and all good experience and very reasonably priced."

"Old rundown hotel. Bed was ok, bathroom needed update, peeling wallpaper, rusty door etc. Didn't bother with the so called breakfast. Microwaved egg omelets, no thank you. Walls are thin, you can hear everything. Sounded like people above us were a herd of elephants, loud banging, thumping , voices etc. I called front desk to complain. Noise started around 11:30pm, finally quiet by 1:30 am until 8am. "

"Searched for a room in a hotel SPECIFICALLY with a pool for my children to swim and booked here through expedia. Immediately after booking the room, I went to see the hours of the pool to plan out our short, 1-night stay and then see on the site that the pool is, has been, and will be closed until October 2026. "My husband stayed, and he loved the cleanliness of the room and the variety of good food at breakfast. When in Norwich, CT, he will be staying there again."

"staff was very friendly. It is very isolated so dining options and such remote. You do have to drive."

"Property needs serious upgrade. Shower water was dripping no power. There was mold in the bathroom ceiling Bed and pillows were great and rooms were comfortable"

"Whenever I'm traveling thru Southern CT on business, the Lamplighter is my go to for staying over. Clean room. Comfortable bed, plenty of Hot Water, microwave and mini fridge, good TV. Reasonable price, close to the highway. Restaurants within walking distance. It has it all."
