"We had a wonderful stay at Wayside Inn. Our host, Joe, was very helpful and was a great chef! Our breakfasts were very good and got us ready for the day ahead. Parking was not a problem and the surrounding yard was shady and pleasant. The giant oak in the front is reported to be 200 or more years old. Our room and bath were well maintained. We would definitely stay there again. The Inn also has a great history dating back to the late 18th Century. It is said that George Washington stayed there...

"I stayed in B2, which is a basement room. It had a VERY strong mildew odor, chipped furniture with crooked drawers, and patchwork paint on the ceilings. This room does NOT warrant the 3.5 rating that this property has, however, other rooms may be better. The shower was clean, however, so they earned one Star for that."

"Beautiful location. It’s in the heart of Columbia but tucked away perfectly for a nice retreat. Right by a nice trail. The view of the lake is breathtaking. Pool closes kind of early so make sure you pay attention to the time. Restaurant was worth every penny. Beds were nice. Loved the personalized touch with the tv having my name on it."

"The manager was very attentive as a trainee was checking me in. She made sure that everything was right and also gave me very late check out so that I could enjoy all the amenities."

Room was clean but the air conditioning was running water maintenance did come and try and fix. "The marketing team at Motel 6 should be ashamed to have their name linked to this awful property. It's a dive. Dirty, nasty tub and shower - we DID NOT use it. Was woken up at 2am with the man in the next room playing bad Mexican radio music, smoking dope and entertaining women who stood next to our door. This hotel appears to be a long term stay option. "This property is aging out and in need of major upgrades. The putter corridor is a detached motel. The hotel is engulfed in all manner of odor. The continental breakfast was the equivalent of a vending machine with no hospitality. The internet was non existent for my work laptop as well as my iPad forcing me to use my cell as a hotspot. The only highlight was checking out. I started to write the MD health code department because this operation is long overdue for inspection."
