"The staff were all very good but at times a little pushed to see to everything. Our room was roomy but not particularly clean, cobwebs on windows, dirt and dusty skirting and all areas upon high had a good layer of dust. One bulb out at bedside and marks on wall and skirting that could be wiped off. Bed linen and towels were clean and soft. Shower and sink clean but toilet was not!!! Passage way to and from dining room smelt of cooking grease all the time that would suggest extractor filters...

"Such a gorgeous property!!! We stayed there for 3 nights and hardly left. We ate at all the restaurants, including High Tea. We had such an amazing time. We will be back!"

The very cold weather made it even more difficult. The manager was very good and helpful. We hope to get a refund for the second night. "Missold hotel, more like a hostel. Old building no staff available with main door left open when we arrived leaving people very vulnerable. Lex the member of staff at this place lied to Expedia team, telling them that we checked in but hadn't checked out knowing that we had refused to stay there and had asked for a refund which they are refusing! We ended up staying at Gatwick all night until our flight. Not a great start to our holiday. Reviews are questionable. DO NOT STAY THERE!!"

"I rarely write reviews but I needed to express our extreme disappointment at the standard of the Rose and Crown Hotel in Tonbridge. The external elevations are very tired but when inside it gets far worse. As with the outside, paint is peeling off everywhere and it looks as though no maintenance or upgrading has been carried out for many, many years. However, the worst thing is the lack of cleanliness. "We found it challenging to find the entrance to the hotel from the airport, you can’t enter from the outside, only from a tube connecting the terminal. One elevator was broken and the other was extremely slow and often full from staff with carts of dishes or housekeeping supplies. The food in the bar was pretty awful and overpriced. My daughter ordered nachos which were probably the worst I’ve ever had; fake, liquid cheese and some green slip that barely resembled guacamole. The room...
