"Fantastic hotel! 4-star rated but more of a 4.5 star. The entrance to the hotel immediately conveyed upscale. Hotel is located directly across the street from the hub of Kyoto Station. Tons of shopping! Our view from our 9th floor room allowed us to see the bullet trains arriving and departing from the station. Impressive! When we arrived, despite there being a staffed front desk, there was a lineup of arriving guests to an advanced check-in kiosk system which was organized. And there were English-speaking attendants there ready to assist if after a long flight we could not figure it out. We paid a hotel local tax fee of an additional 1500 Yens (reasonable), though we had paid for our stay in full with Expedia. Expedia had noted that there maybe a local hotel fee, so we were aware but was not sure how much it would be. That was for two of us and for a 4-night stay. As we finished our check-in process through the kiosk, a porter arrived and offered to take our luggage to our room, took a copy of our room key and lead us to the elevator, where he showed us how to use the key to allow for the elevator floor button selection. Took us to our room where he entered first to ensure that all was in order. Then indicated for us to enter (we arrived for their standard early 2pm check-in, so it was bright and the drapes were open). Bright, very modern and cheerful decor, and then the amazing view of the cityscape, including that of the bullet (shinkansen) train. Great stay!!"

"This property was very nice. Had a real Japanese flair to it. Was very surprised to find a washing machine in the tub area. We were able to wash our traveling clothes the only thing is the drying part of the machine did not get the clothes completely dry, but they were only slightly damp when packing. Closeness to Kyoto station was good as it was just a 5 minute taxi ride. "

"The Hotel New Hankyu Kyoto is very conveniently located within easy walking distance of the Kyoto Train Station. There are 2 convenience stores within 50 m. Restaurants and shops are located in the Kyoto Train Station The Nidec Kyoto Tower is within easy walking distance. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. We arrived before checkin time and were able to store our luggage in their cloakroom. Similarly we were able to store our luggage after checkout, given our flight was in the evening. The room was clean and well presented. "

"Perfect doe a family , kitchen with equipment and Nice eds and good pilows ( not the usual hard japanese types ) .check in. And out very easy .20 min walk to Kyoto station .All in all really food value fof money .!"
