"This time we stayed in the Cottage. It was a separate unit behind the main house. Easy to enter using the code I was emailed. The cottage was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a claw foot tub and a wraparound shower curtain. The room A/C was excellent. It was very comfortable all day and night. The ceiling fan was whisper quiet. The cottage included a kitchen area with a half-size refrigerator/freezer, counter top, cabinets, tableware, microwave, and a table....

"My husband and I loved our stay at the Carr Mansion! This historical home was charming, clean, and comfortable. Joellyn was a fabulous host; she served delicious breakfast and offered several tips/ recommendations for activities around the island. The location of the home is near to several other historical landmarks/ museums, the Strand, and the Seawall. "The hotel was on the beach and convenient to our travel plans and local restaurants. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel parking garage was too small for two vehicles to drive through at the same time; lot was full. There were two elevators for a 6-story hotel that were very delayed. So, many people were forced to take the stairs with luggage in hand. Just an ok experience."

"breakfast very good quality for standard fare. Would definitely recommend having a prearranged plan to get to hotel if going from Houston airport. Can be very expensive if cab or uber. Best to rent car. Be careful of being charged by both transportation driver and hotel for travel from and to airport. "

"I’ve stayed at this location on 3 different occasions over the past several years and I’ve always been very happy each time. I particularly enjoy the pool bar(Longboards). The bartender, Tyler, was great; very friendly and personable, and great service. I definitely plan on making future stays."
