"This place was excellent. Joy was so helpful and wonderful and her little dog chewy was so cute. She made our little OHIO getaway a very memorable one. I would definitely travel back there."

"There were a few HVAC issues with the room though the frontdesk and maintenance teams were prompt and courteous. Service was friendly albeit a bit slow as it seemed they may have been a bit understaffed. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable; no significant shortcomings. "

"When checking in the man at the front desk very clearly had anger issues and kept muttering and swearing under his breath. He also asked me 3 to 4 times if I was alone, and as a woman teaveling by myself I was extremely uncomfortable. I reported him in the morning when checking out, and the woman I spoke to just made excuses about how rough his night was."

"Room was clean and breakfast was great. The water from the shower was barely warm and should have more than two towels in the room."

"This hotel opened its restaurant at 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, for breakfast for guests who were booked for a train excursion that boarded at 7 a.m. What excellent service. We talked to other people who had stayed at other local hotels and were told that some hotels did not alter their hours to accommodate this important event (the train ride to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States). Kudos to the Doubletree in Newark, Ohio."

"Hotel clean but getting dated. The beds are terribly hard. Could not get a good night's sleep there."

"All was great-staff, breakfast, room, quietness, location. Only thing that made us upset was finding out that since we were staying a whole week, we had to let housekeeping come in after 3 days to clean the room. Tried to prevent that happening but lost that battle."
