"Good A/C, nice sized room. Appreciated the "larger" mini frudge and coffee maker in the room. Very helpful woth local resources and advice on best travel routes. Got to see a mother howler monkey nursing her baby in the tree just adjacent to the room. Room walls are concrete, so couldn't hear anything from adjacent rooms. Much more serene atmosphere than the hectic pace and crowds in Nosara and Guiones beach areas. Would definitely stay again. Thank you, Louie for wonderful hospitality."

There are none available at the beach except for the next door resort which they don’t rent. There are different activities offered by other businesses."

"There is a lot to share about our experience. Our family of four booked this hotel for three nights to relax after some earlier adventures. Unfortunately we got some pretty terrible weather. We were the only ones staying on the property for the majority of our stay. In the high season they have a guard station and a restaurant. In the low season they are not fully staffed. "Centrally located but quiet. Great staff. Beautiful pool and shared kitchen and cabana area. For the price, it’s very good/what you would expect. The rooms are simple and parts of the facility are old, but that is why it is priced more affordably than other hotels. I would definitely stay there again if I stay in the same financial bracket. If I had more money, I would ideally like to have a more comfortable mattress and newer windows that close fully and no smell of mold. But all in...

"Staff were excellent. Very helpful and professional. Pool was pristine, perfectly kept. As usual, kitchenette could use better paring knives. Enjoyed wildlife: howler monkeys, racoons, coati, geckos, iguanas, birds, cat, two big spiders in web by check in! Off the beaten track so very private and quiet; personal cabins in midst of 'jungle'. Would go back and stay longer!"

"The room was in the basement with no hot water, small, and dark. The pool was the size of a large bathtub, and all small clean little prison compound. It would of suffice for a night or two, for about a 1/4 of the price i paid. But at $160 a night, it sucked. Worst hotel.com place ive ever stayed in Costa Rica."

"The Sunset Shack was fantastic for our family trip to Nosara. The beach is super close, and the town is very cute. We were right in the middle of it all. Monkeys in the mango trees on the property in the morning, and iguanas roaming all day. The food, the staff, and the hotel itself were all 5 stars! We would love to return to Nosara, and would not stay anywhere else. Thank you Sunset Shack!"
