"Very dated decor ( not necessarily Victorian!) so many higgldy pickdly steps and differing floor levels all over the place. Was a pleasant stay but definitely not for anyone with mobility concern. "

"This is the best hotel that we have stayed in and around Exeter. We come quite often because our daughter is at university. The only downside is it doesn’t have a pool but fortunately I had a day pass to David Lloyd which is next door which has a swimming pool. The restaurant is situated on the eighth floor and has great views. You can see Exmouth"

"My room was in the coach house, just outside tje doors of the main building. It was very clean with just baked biscuits and Tregothnan tea. A gorgeous view of the garden was welcoming on arrival."

"The thermostats controlling the aircon/heaters were mounted directly in line with the heater outlets so that whenever the heater kicked in the thermostat immediately thought the room had reached the right temperature. This comical setup had been installed in our bedroom and also my sister's room. The name of the installers was, amazingly, printed on the units. The hotel management would be well advised to get the installers back to correct the locations of the thermostats - at no cost to...

"This is a busy hotel on Sunday’s but has plenty of parking. The staff are exceptional and room 201 with a tub in the window is perfect for a romantic weekend. The hotel is a short walk from the Rock Inn and the moor. The food in the bar and main restaurant is varied and delicious with breakfast being served in the conservatory. The bus service to Widecombe in the moor is very limited and needs to be considered if you intend to visit the area. Overall a very pleasant stay. "

"We were not informed of the internet password. We did not have any hotel information available as it transpires the info booklets were behind ghe reception desk. We also tried to walk into the town but could not because the gate is coded. We did not know this prior to walking as we had no info. The radiator in the bathroom was scolding hot. We did advise reception and supposedly it was repaired. Sadly it was not .. we slept with three windows open and two fans running all night! Interestingly...

"Clean room, nice staff, parking is public and need to move by 8 am or have to pay. Centrally located with restaurants in walking distance. "

"Perfect for a quick stop over. Super comfy bed. Room v clean. Thank you for allocating me a quiet room too. Breakfast lovely. The only thing to improve is to ensure milk doesnt run out at the corridor drinks station (no kettle in the room). Otherwise excllent. "

"Hotel is just like pictures , friendly staff really clean modern rooms , breakfast was fresh and had a good selection , 10 minutes walk from main shops , and there is a council car park at the rear which was cheaper than the Mccp car park Would definitely stay here again 👍 "
