"Been here several times and it's always wonderful. On the surface, it's a nicely appointed motor lodge or cabin, but it's the whole situation that makes it incredibly special. Big Meadows sits on the edge of a mountain, with a view into the Shenandoah Valley. There is a restaurant with a stunning view right from the dining room, a grill, and pub, all of which have different food, and you can walk out right from there on a number of hikes. "Great location right outside of Luray for an affordable price. Very quiet and easy to check in. We called and got our door code and we were in earlier than our check-in time. The rooms had clearly been remodeled recently with updated flooring, paint, furniture, etc. The sheets and towels were lacking though. It doesn't seem like they upgraded the towels since they upgraded the rooms. Very thin, very small. The door that connected to another room had a very wobbly doorknob which made it feel...

"The hotel was closed upon arrival and no one ever arrived. The windows were broken and there was an odor of cat urine and a dozen feral cats. We left since the hotel was closed and sought other accommodations. I will demand a full refund from Expedia and my credit card company. Filthy!"

"Breakfast was a little pricey. The room we had did not have a mini fridge or microwave, which I should have noticed prior to booking. So that’s on me. Area is beautiful and the staff are nice and helpful. I will be back with my kids so they can enjoy it too. "

"Electricity in our room was not working. The room was not checked before we checked in. We could not open bedroom windows to get fresh air, since bedroom was small and not fresh. There was a weird sound in the room like tık tik tik. İt was coming from the floor or wall woods. We could not understand the source but it was disturbing in the middle of the night. It was a small noice but disturbing in the silence of the night."
