"The rooms were clean, but small. Not a lot of room to move around in or open luggage in. Staff was friendly and helpful. The city center was within walking distance and great places to eat as well."

"Rooms are shabby all round but the curtains were falling of the rods, the windows were in a sad state and the bathtub was awful. My room looked directly onto an alley full of commercial garbage bins and a rooftop bar was directly across from the window. The tv remote had no back and was held together with duct tape."

"The room was a very good size, very clean with coffee and tea provided. Breakfast was very generous and excellent quality, we had an evening meal on our first night which was also very good. Thoroughly recommend a stay here as it’s also very close to Ullswater with its beautiful scenic views. I have dropped one star as the parking outside the hotel is a bit hit and miss as it’s also used for the surrounding pubs and shops. However there is a public car park a short walk over Pooley Bridge. "

"Picanha Steak was over cooked. Requested medium-rare but came out medium-well. Breakfast ok, the staff who “greeted” me at the desk didn’t seem interested un customer service. Room lovely however, had one of the renovated rooms. Clean, and well decorated "
