"We went to check in at 3 PM, NO Rooms available, and they didn't know when they would be available!!! We had to get ready for our event that we were going to in the lobby bathroom with about 15 other people!!! When we finally got to our room after 1 AM, the room smelled like a dog! "To be honest it’s not entirely all at fault with Marriott but whew there could be many more improvements… when I arrived there was a fire truck and Battalion truck .. everyone was standing outside - I wasn’t sure if I could go in - no one stopped me - I walked in and I was kindly told to not come in yet. No problem. At least have a communication in command in system!
I don’t know why we were assigned to the handicapped room. Just big NO.

"The Hartness is beautifully decorated and clearly wants to be a luxury resort, but it lacks the service and attention to detail to match. The “preserve” they advertise is now being developed into homes, which was disappointing. During Clemson concert weekend, the hotel was severely understaffed and unprepared. It’s also not as close to downtown Greenville as advertised. For the price, there are better options elsewhere."
