White elephant of a hotel.
Main train Station close enough to the hotel but there are not many amenities nearby, there are no underground nearby either and it’s not easy to get a taxi because of the off road position. The reception staff are expressionless so don’t expect much help or friendliness. The good points are breakfast is included and normal check out time is 1pm. Don’t get too thirsty as when you finish a complimentary bottle of 300ml water you’ll have to pay for the extra; something I’ve never experienced in other hotels in China.

Although there were no smoking signs in the hotel, there were people smoking in the lobby in front of the reception. No one asked the smokers to smoke outside. On the 15th floor where we stayed, there was like an office located there. Once I saw an employee walked out of the lift to that office & the lift reeked of cigerette smoke. Most unpleasant to ride that lift.
We booked a room for 3 ppl and was glad to find 3 beds, one double n 2 twins, in 2 partitions, each with a tv and a desk n chair. The linen was clean n breakfast, of a great variety and plentiful. If it were located closer to the mtr, it,'d have been perfect. However, taxis are inexpensive in Guangzhou.

Well located but an older hotel. Comfortable but furnishings etc need to be upgraded
The staff at the reception was very helpful and kind as without their help to get a taxi to the Quangzhou East Railway station, we would have missed our train ride to Xiamen. A bellboy helped us with the luggage upon arrival and refused to accept any tips. A warm reception as we had a little basket of local fruit in our room. Shopping centres within walking distance.

Absolutely disgusting hotel & very rude service!!
The hotel was filthy from the lobby to the rooms. When I arrived I was given the keys to a room that had not been cleaned. The previous guests had left and they tried to usher me straight in. I missed my first night and therefore was checking in 21 hours after check-in opened. When I went to change my key to a clean room I was told I would have to wait for a room to be cleaned. I reminded them that I was 21 hours late and my room should be ready. The staff were so rude it was disgusting. On night 2 our entire floor was evacuated & there were police everywhere. I had to pack my bag and go down the fire escape. After waiting at reception for at least an hour I was issued with a new key to a different floor with no apology or explanation. When I asked what was going on they said there was no hot water on my previous floor (if you're going to lie try and at least make it believable). The map the hotel had provided Wotif was incorrect which made finding the hotel very difficult. It was in a dodgy area that you couldn't walk to, taxis were the only option. No where to get a coffee or shops/metro close by. Upon checking out, more rude service and then they kept my deposit!! There was no reason for this, no one spoke English fluently and I didn't have time or by this point energy to dispute someone that I knew I wasn't going to win on. This hotel is absolutely repulsive and should not be listed on Wotif anymore. I don't know how it is still available to book.
Is quite far from MRT, we walk for like 1 hour from MRT. Then outside of the hotel is a garbage center so when we walk in and out there is some not very pleasant smell. But inside the hotel is not bad, room not bad too.
