"The hotel is rather small (a very good thing for me!), but the room I had was large and the bathroom too. It was modern and very clean, with A/C. It was called Mallus and had a French door to the street which meant I had to have the blind down all the time for privacy, really the only drawback to it all. The breakfast is very good, fresh, and the manager very kind and dedicated. I highly recommend!"

"This was a beautiful 17th century house with extensive gardens. The pool was surrounded by lavender bushes and close to the dining area/patio area. Bedrooms were very comfortable and classically decorated. The owners Ana Maria and Antonio were most gracious - they offered us wine and hors d'oevres when we arrived. The evening meal was spectacular and paired with wines. Breakfast was excellent. We drove to Pinhao to take a 2 hour boat trip on river Douro."

"An exceptional place—we decided to stay an additional day at Moinho do Maneio, canceling a night in the Douro Valley, because we loved the place and its surroundings so much. Anabela and her husband have created such a special retreat, truly a welcome respite after traveling through the busy cities of Madrid and Seville.
