The Stavrand is a beautiful property nestled in the redwoods just a few minutes walk from downtown Guerneville. The front desk and dining room staff were friendly and helpful. We brought kayaks, for which we were shown a safe place for storage. My disappointments were: (1) the swimming pool was quite cold, and the jacuzzi was not very hot and had no operative jets, (2) housekeeping did not come clean our room during our 2-night stay, and (3) the room, though lovely, had no real separation of bed from bathroom. We had a pleasant stay; I just expected more for the money.

The Stavrand is the kind of place where you naturally begin to slow down, mentally and physically. The property has such a calm, grounded feeling to it, and it really lets you settle in without even trying. We stayed here as a family, and our son had the most wonderful time, jumping in the pool, hiking around the property, and even trying a plum or two straight from the tree. It felt peaceful for us and magical for him, which is such a rare and lovely combination. A beautiful stay, thoughtful in all the right ways.

Such a beautiful property and the staff are amazing! From check-in to check-out, everything was wonderful. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary and were offered a complimentary upgrade as well as some chocolates and a card. The staff were so nice and thoughtful. We loved the peacefulness of the redwoods and the garden nearby. I wished we had had more time to spend than one night, but we’ll definitely come back next time we’re in the area!

Absolutely incredible. Top notch experience all around. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. My wife and I stayed here as home base while we went to the redwoods and Sonoma. Family staycation in the rain was lovely

We loved our stay at the Stavrand. Very cozy, nice amenities, wonderful breakfast. It was pouring rain so we were stuck inside with our 2.5 year old but with a lovely sitting area, fireplaces, boardgames, and smore kits we had a lot of fun. Look forward to staying again.

Review of stay in the National Historic Register Belden House: the room felt updated and modern with some antique touches that gave the room character. The original double hung windows were tastefully covered with two layers of curtains to allow for a dark room for sleeping. The complimentary breakfast, afternoon wine hour, and s’mores were a lovely addition to this serene getaway. The breakfast was made to order and offered plenty of gluten free options. The grounds were well kept, super friendly and knowledgeable staff, and even free level 2 EV charging.

The Stavrand is an exceptional property; right away it is noticeable how the staff cares about their patrons. They go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The location is an easy drive to any winery and walkable to downtown Guerneville for food and drink; be sure to hit up the local bank turned into an ice cream shop!

BIG fan of this property -- mostly because of the people. While a bit dated, that's part of the charm and the staff was some of the friendliest I've experienced. Super helpful, super accommodating, and super friendly. A short, mostly pretty walk to "downtown" made it easy to not have to drive a lot and outside of losing power (not in their control), it was a great, relaxing stay! Can't wait to come back and try their dining options (and sadly skipped breakfast, too much to do!).
