"Room was very dated, had a musty old smoke smell. The bathroom was in desperate need of renovations. Parts missing from the tap, a weird old dirty attachment randomly stuck to the wall, the bath was marked and scratched (looked very dirty so did not use). Breakfast was an absolute shambles, it was so busy and crowded with no systems in place, there was barely any food left and seemed to be only one person refilling the food station. It was a struggle to get sausage and eggs. 10 minute queue to...

"Our room was very clean and we appreciated the fans that were set up. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good."

"Disappointed not to get a balcony, especially since the hotel didn’t seem very busy at the time - felt like a room with one should’ve been available. On the plus side, the spa was excellent and a real highlight of the stay."

"For the grandeur of the hotel, the breakfast was not the best for the money self service with tinned mushrooms and the sausages not the best, plus not very hot. And another thing is they charge for parking, a hotel situated away from any means of getting there other than by car with plenty of land you should not be charged to park at £13.50 a day when simular hotels at the same rates do not charge. It is a very nice art deco looking place with a lovely spar and pool."

"The exterior of the building is wonderful along with the grounds. The interior however is extremely run down and our first room We were given smelt damp and had to be moved to a better room but still then extremely basic and cleaning standard not great. Not helped also by the fact they only offer housekeeping every 3 days. Hotel with huge potential but not being looked after and requires urgent attention would not recommend anyone to stay there"

"Property needs updating carpets and bathroom grubby. Coffee and tea facility not adequately catered for. Staff very helpful. Beds comfortable. Was a bit noisy. Spa and gym good. Was great value for money. Breakfast was good."

"We had a problem when we arrived as we had booked a Superior King Room with our dog but on arrival told we couldn't have that so downgraded to a lessor room. But the staff gave us a free drink and free parking and as we had no choice at that stage we had to accept it. Very annoying as I had called in advance to confirm the booking and that we were bringing a dog etc but thats the problem with corporates"
