"The staff were very friendly and helpful. The outdoor sitting areas are nice. Otherwise it is fine, but definitely not what they portray themselves to be online. You can’t control the temp in your room except by opening/closing the very dirty window over the shower (luckily I’m tall enough to reach it). If you don’t keep that window open, a very weird smell develops. The balcony is covered in spider webs and when I got there the balcony door wasn’t shut all the way/locked which was unsettling. It’s an outdoor entrance/more motel style so you have to carry your luggage upstairs. Found ants in the bathroom after dinner trash had sat for less than 10 hours. Construction was very loud. The gym had 1 bike and 1 treadmill on top of each other and some weights, opted not to use it as I had planned. The WiFi was very spotty. Very thin walls, can hear a ton. Their site implies that they’re in a walkable location which it’s really not, you need a car or uber. Overall would not recommend."

"We booked here because we love the British style of the hotel. Unfortunately, the room and bathroom were not clean. There was hair on the shower wall and lots of hairs in the bed. This was disappointing."

"Late afternoon wine and both breakfasts (1st morning scrambled eggs, link sausages,toast and yogurt with lots of fresh fruit; 2nd morning waffles, bacon and more fresh fruits) were quite nice. Also, pleasant flowered deck area with afternoon sun in back yard."

"The room was clean and very comfortable. The location is VERY convenient to downtown Half Moon Bay - right in the middle of some stores. Great for walking to restaurants and shopping. It was very quiet while we were there but I don't know about weekend noise. There is no staff on the premises but they did response to our phone calls to resolve a few minor problems. We paid for parking which was nice for coming and going. "
