The staff were nice enough. The room was absolute filth. Mould in the bathroom and bedroom. Had a much more comfortable stay at a Hostel down the road. Do not recommend.

The property is centrally located. Daily? Room servicing was unreliable, had to ask for sheets to be changed after 10 days. Shower drain mostly blocked, toilet not cleaned, toilet paper had to repeatable ask for.

Property is tired. Staff is tired. Room is tired. It was ok but not for what we paid and thought we would get from the pictures online. Smoke smell blew in with AC from people outside smoking. Sheets were clean and smooth elevator are only positives.

Do not book here. I’m extremely irritated with Expedia and myself for not cross checking this hotel. I don’t know how it is rated ‘very good’. We were meant to stay 9 nights and left after 1, kissing our money goodbye. If we didn’t arrive so late I would’ve walked out immediately after check in. (I will continue to try and take this up with Expedia). The room was old and dirty, the bathroom in particular was filthy. I wish I could add photos. The sink and toilet were dirty (this is also a non tissue flushing toilet, which wouldn’t have been such a big deal if the bidet looked even remotely clean. I wrapped it in tissue to touch it). It was just generally terrible, old, and filthy, we showered with sandals on as a precaution. The towels were not clean, and had visible dirt on them. I was itching in the bed sheets and after looking at other experiences I am now concerned it was bugs. There was no lake view but at that point it was the least of my worries. Please cross check every hotel you book through Expedia because they may be completely and utterly misleading.

Calling for smartness

They should try to be smart, very smart. Especially the bathroom. They should replenish toiletries as well as scrub the toilet floor and walls so that clients plan to come back or refer other people. They should also sweep the room floors everyday when there is a client. They should be professional especially on the reception area. They should buy proper detergents not user old containers over and over again to refill. They are nice people but dirty.

We will be raving about the Hanoi Gatsby Hotel for the rest of our lives! My boyfriend and I stayed here while visiting Hanoi, and the hotel's aesthetics, comfort, food and SERVICE exceeded all of our expectations. We have stayed at many 5 and 6 star hotels around the world, and the Gtasby Hotel easily sits amongst the top. The hotel was beautiful, clean, conveniently located, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the hotel staff. Every single employee we interacted with went above and beyond to fulfill any request. We could not believe the level of service; and every day had another "amazing story" to tell one another about how Mie or Anna or other staff member helped us out that day. Our first morning there, my boyfriend was in search of some toiletries. He went downstairs to ask the front desk where the nearest store is. Not only did the staff member let him know exactly where it was, she proceeded to walk him to the store herself, and help translate to ensure got exactly what he needed! The day I checked out was the day of my birthday, and neither my boyfriend nor I let the staff know ahead of time. Yet, every where we walked in the hotel, the staff wished me a happy birthday, and of course had a beautiful dessert waiting for me at breakfast. I can't wait to return, and to take my friends and family with me next time!

The photos used for reference is not accurate. This hotel has seen better days. The shower and bathroom sinks haven't been cleaned in years covered in soap scum and the tiles were lifted off the floor with dirt coming out of the cracks. There were also holes and cracks in the walls with ants coming out of the opening. Also we booked a king bed plus 2 twins and it turned out to be one twin bed and one cot. We specified that we booked based on the bed listing but they informed us there is no room with 3 actual beds. Expedia really needs to change that as it is inaccurate info. We pre-paid for 4 nights and left after the first night. They would not refund us even with the issues we outlined. The front desk in the evening was very unpleasant. While we were trying to check out, I asked if we're good to leave after we returned the key, she said to wait and then started ordering food on her phone. We just took our belongings and left. I have never given a bad review before but I do think its the hotels responsibility to have proper cleaning and sanitizing of the rooms as well as pest control. I was in Vietnam for 3 weeks and no other lodging had issues. It needs to be properly maintained with the bare minimums and fix all the walls and floors.

びっくりでした。

402の部屋に宿泊しましたが、シャワー室の排水が悪く水がたまり　トイレまで水浸しになった。トイレの水のたまる音なのか　ポトポト音が気になった。シャワールームの掃除がされてなかった。 202の部屋のWiFiがつながらなかった。 いろいろありすぎたて　思い出が沢山残るホテルになりました。

My room was exactly as advertised, with a large balcony :). Location is great , right in the middle of everything ! There are no pool or gym but was not expecting one . The staff is what made this stay so good . They were very attentive always welcoming and arranged my tours to surrounding areas. Good stay all in all

Great stay in Hanoi

We had a incredible stay at Hanoi Gatsby! The staff is very friendly and will help you with whatever you need. The rooms are very nice and spacious. Breakfast is very nice since you can order two options from a menu plus serve yourself in the buffet. Localization is also great! Walking distance from the main attractions. Would definitely stay here again!
