Words cannot express how accommodating Brian was. He anticipated out every need, scheduled tours, advised on best restaurants, handled everything for us.
He took time out of his day to share a cup of coffee with us and tell us about his life.
Absolutely love this place and Brian. We will be back!

had to pay twice
Garden Queen doesn't accept funding hotels.com As a result I had to "PAY AGAIN" to stay, and they wouldn't accept c cards for payment. Only cash. Early days, but Im still waiting on a refund. Fingers crossed .
Apart from that it was a pleasant stay. The rooftop garden is an awesome getaway. The rooms are airy and comfortable with their own balcony.
If you appreciate uniqueness this place is for you. I stayed here many years ago and happy to report it’s still in good condition and still staffed by the same lovely people. If you’re uptight about everything working perfectly maybe this isn’t the place for you, but it’s one of the coolest hotels i’ve ever stayed at.
charming old building made into the hotel with welcoming lobby as if entering into a different space from the busy street across the interior bridge with a small fish pond.
rooms small and cozy, clean and comfortable beds. have and elevator - nice bonus for old-town building.
A small, cozy hotel, with character that feels more like a guesthouse than a typical hotel. From the lobby's cat and bridge over the fish pond, to the signed portrait of Thich That Han, to ancient motorbikes that adorn each floor's landing, The Queen reflects the personality of its owner and feels like a guest house, rather than a modern hotel. Its a throwback to the era before corporate standardization, hospitality degrees and muzac. Located in the heart of Old Hanoi, iy has become my go-to spot,, though my company would happily put in any of the major hotel facilities.
Great location but could not recommend this hotel. The room was not clean and bathroom was very tired. The floor flooded when using the shower (over the bath) and the toilet blocked.
Had to move to another hotel after one night, although paid for 4 upfront (did not get any refund).
The irony was that the hotel we went to around the corner was much better and cheaper!
There are plenty of local hotels who will negotiate on their prices, so I suggest not booking anything in advance and looking around the Old Quarter when you arrive.

Convenient location.
This hotel is in a great location, in the middle of exciting Hanoi, right near the lake in town and the shopping area. We were able to walk everywhere we wished. Although it is on a busy street, the rooms sit back from the street and were relatively quiet.
The hotel itself is a bit aging, but they try to make it comfortable - Air conditioning, modern sink and toilet, comfortable bed, new elevator, clean. Breakfast was fine. They have a number of antique motorcycles and motor bikes displayed around the hotel.
Well worth the price and the front desk was very helpful. They have a travel agency right in the hotel, which has high ratings.

Centralt budgethotell
Prisvärt lågbudgethotell med bra personal mitt i myllret i hanoi old quarter.
