We werden via een ander hotel in dit hotel geplaatst waar we vervolgens extra moesten betalen voor de kamer. Dit wouden we niet en werden daarom weer over geplaatst naar een andere kamer. Het personeel kon niet goed Engels en waren totaal niet vriendelijk. De kamers waren prima maar wel redelijk oud en een beetje vies.

처음엔 새벽에 도착해서 좁아보이고 깨끗해보이지 않는 모습에 실망을 했었는데...다음날 베트남을 돌아다녀보니 이 호텔이 깨끗하고 좋은 호텔인게 확인되더라구요 그리고 무엇보다 성요셉성당 바로옆이여서 찾기편하고 주변 볼거리도 많았어요. 한국과는 문화적으로도 많이 다르기 때문에 한국의 호텔로 생각하고 가면 실망할수도 있어요 그리고 스플랜디드 호텔이 몇개가 붙어있는데 제가 지냈던 스플랜디드 스타 스위트 호텔에는 엘레베이터가 없어서 오르락내리락 무지 힘들었답니다. 어르신들과 같이 가는 여행에서는 비추예요 가장 기억에 남는건 4인실에 5인 금액으로 결제하고 간거라서 간이침대 추가를 했는데 더불침대 매트리스를 직접 6층까지 가지고 올라오셨더라구요 매트리스가 너무커서 객실에 맞지는 않았지만 들고 오신 성의를 생각해서 몇일 사용했어요 그덕에 비좁게 쓰긴했구요 낮에 근무하시는 직원분들과 밤에 근무하시는 직원분들 다 젊고 엄청 친절하셨어요 언어가 잘 안되서 번역기와 바디랭귀지에 많이 의지를 했는데 이해해주시고 대응해주시더라구요 어쨋든 4일간 호텔에 투숙하며 불편한점은 엘레베이터부분이고 그외는 조식도 좋았고 만족했습니다.

Not sure how to rate this hotel properly. The hotel really needs work to bring it back to its former glory. Having said that, rooms are big, bed is comfortable. Everything works and rooms are clean. 2 things that may score against it 1. There are no lifts 2. It is right next to St Joseph Cathedral, the bells toll every 15 minutes (very briefly). Those who are easily woken may find annoying.

Well located hotel, good service but basic rooms

We booked this hotel primarily due to it's great location in the heart of Hanoi, literally next to the cathedral square and a short walk from major attractions. The staff were very friendly and professional but the quality of the room was a little disappointing. The photos give an impression of a high quality room but in reality the room was average at best. There were only beds and no bedside tables, the bathroom had a transparent glass wall allowing you to see the feet and body outline of the person using it which was frankly quite bizarre. Also, there was no elevator and the room was on the 4th floor, although on arrival our bags were carried to our room it was difficult bringing them down in the morning. If you are looking for a crash pad while you are enjoying the city this place will be fine (as long as you are well acquainted with your room mate already!), but if you are planning to relax in the room then other options provide more comfort.

No Elevator

Their profile says they have elevator, l arrive check in and they want me to talk 4 flights of narrow stairs which means up and down everytime l leave room, at 69 years old this is not safe or healthy stsirs also slippery when it rained. Had to fight manager for what l booked they swapped hotels to a shoe box room and bathroom that was unusable as shower was super small OVER the toiket, I am 192cm only 105kgs, anyway everything was a fight, and even door keys old and hard to use, they agreed to credit first night and swap rooms next day l still had to climb one flight of stairs which l did cautiously. When checking out it was another fight about the agreed credit. Such terrible service and I emailed them twice 3 days before about it do check would be simple, they never replied to my emails.

하노이 최악의 호텔

이용후기를 처음 쓸 정도로 하노이 최악의 호텔입니다. 위치와 저렴한 가격보고 예약하였으나, 오후 7시 쯤 체크아웃 시 방이 없으니 호안키엠 맥주거리보다도 한참 위쪽인 splendid로 가라고 하였어요. 예약을 받지 말았어야 하는 거 아닌가 하는 생각이었지만, 참았습니다. 택시 불러준다고 하길래, 10분 이상 기다려도 안와서 취소 가능하냐고 물어보니, 취소안된다고 해서 슬슬 열받았습니다. 그럼 알았으니, 택시불러달라고 하고, 택시 탔는데 제 돈주고 직접 타야 한다네요. 두 번 참고, 탔습니다. 택시 기사가 어디가냐고 묻길래 황당했습니다. 예약 후 지급까지 했는데, 방이 없으니 택시 타고 다른 호텔로 가라고 해놓고, 택시 기사가 저한테 위치를 묻더군요. 그래서 택시 타고 호텔로 다시 돌아가니, 직원이 나오길래, 위치를 기사에게 설명해주겠거니.. 했는데, 저보고 호텔직원이 어디가냐고 묻더라고요. 이게 말이나 됩니까? 그래서 당신이 방 없다고 다른 호텔로 안내해주겠다고 해놓고, 이게 뭐하는 거냐고 해서야 그제서야 호텔 위치를 설명해주더군요. 정말 아무리 싼값이지만 답답했습니다. 방을 가니, 제공되는 과자와 과일 주위에 개미가 많더군요. 침대에 누웠는데 이불 밑에도 개미가 있었구요. 샤워하고 빨리 잠이나 자야겠다 했는데, 방에 수건이 없어서, 젖은 채로 반바지 입고 1층까지 내려가서 수건달라고 했습니다. 일주일 전 일인데 분노가 아직도 치미네요.

Holiday in Hanoi

Hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance to shopping n eateries. Staff are all very friendly n they made out stay at the hotel a very memorable one. Hotel is right beside the st Joseph catholic cathedral. A beautiful quaint church. Hotel is quite clean but a bit old. Value for money though. Breakfast was included n there was a set menu for us to choose from. Limited choice though. It’s a 5 story walk up hotel with no elevator so be prepared ! Walking distance to the famous Hoan Kiem lake. 20 mins walk to the night market. Guests from Malaysia.

사우나를 즐기고 싶으시다면 추천드립니다.

2018년 5월 21일 당시 하노이 온도 34도로 조금만 걸어도 땀이줄줄 흐르는 날씨에 4인실 넓은 방에 에어콘은 쥐똥만한 크기의 벽걸이 하나로 온도를 유지하며 이마저도 가스가 없었는지 선풍기보다 못한 성능을 보여줬습니다. 여행중 귀국 비행기 시간이 약간남아서 임시로 잡은 호텔이라 6시간 정도 머물렀지만 제가 베트남에서 이용한 호텔중 가장 기억에 남을 만큼 최악이었습니다. 심지어 엘리베이터 없이 5층을 걸어 올라야 했으니 그날의 짜증이 지금 이 글을 쓰는 순간에도 몰려옵니다.

Overall, you can get way better value staying somewhere else. I am a pretty low maintenance traveler, but I often felt like I was inconveniencing the staff when I made requests or had questions. Downsides: the rooms facing the Cathedral are loud on the top floors--bells ringing, strange barking or pipes, etc.; there was black mold in one of our rooms; the shower fixtures were falling apart; one of our air conditioners kept breaking; 6th floor walkup with a lot of mosquitos in the hallways; no free breakfast which we didn't know until after the fact; staff attitude. Upsides: Perfect location for exploring old town; decent accommodations. I recommend staying across the alley at Splendid Grand (note: there are three "Splendid" hotels right next to each other). We spent a night there and it was fantastic.
