"Staff were lovely, the room was nice however not maintained to a five star standard as an armchair was heavily stained in the room and general upkeep could have been better. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The grounds are lovely, spa was nice. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Staff all friendly and helpful. "We adored our stay and wish we had more time to spend here. What a wonderful country setting in a traditional B &B. Beautiful chapel views from our room which also overlooked a sweet field with sheep. We were welcomed at the door and bid goodbye personally. "Check-in and check-out were very smooth. The room was spotless and the amenities were excellent, including the well-stocked small fridge with food and snacks. The weather was exceptionally cold during our stay, and unfortunately the small heater wasn’t quite enough to keep the room comfortably warm."

"Character room, good size with everything you would need. There were a few things that needed refreshing but it was all fine for a short stay. The breakfast was really good, hot and well presented with good coffee/tea. Good value for money and good location for many places to visit."

"Safe in room was not working, reported to receptionist who stated that maintenance would fix the following morning. This did not happen, safe still not working 2nd evening. Tv in room had European language channels and lesser known English terrestrial channels, but none of the main channels such as BBC, ITV, Ch4 or Skynews. BBC news was however on the large screen in reception."

"Good price but reflected in the extremely poor state of the rooms and particularly the bathroom. Cracked walls, lights that didn’t work, and an incredibly creaky floor. I really felt for anyone underneath us. Useful location but wouldn’t stay again."

"Good hotel for a short stay, a bit dated but good. Positives: Friendly staff, good size room, clean. The not so great: Breakfast is the biggest disappointment. The choice is minimal and quality should be better. If the breakfast options included fried eggs or pouched eggs and the supplied bread, jam and sausage quality would be better the rating would be much higher."

"Absolutely unreal. The staff, every single one of them are fantastic. Here for a wedding locally and we greeted were warmly by all the staff here. The room is very large, very clean and well ventilated. The small touches in the room were very welcome, good towels, comfortable large bed and great coffee tray. We went for lunch in the restaurant and it was out of this world, the duo of lamb being the absolute favourite. It was so tender, the ragu tartlet was rich and delicious with the pastry case...
