"Highly recommend! Stayed in central Kyoto at first but it was too crowded so switched to this hotel. If you wanna explore Kyoto this is a little bit further from things, but the subway is near and incredibly easy to get around with. This area is stunning. Beautiful nature and hotel is right by it + the river!"

"Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!"

"The room was within walking distance from the bamboo forest and local restaurants. It was hard to find dining at night because some restaurants close early and you have to cross bridge to search for other restaurants. Too many gnats flying around. Gnats were also in the rooms. The staff were really nice and very helpful and patient."

We were lucky enough to have a private onsen with very clean water at the perfect temperature on a lovely little lanai. "Overall really nice stay at Sagano Hotel, have a simple breakfast (2 pc sandwich & a cup of coffee) in the morning is nice. The room is large with big bathroom & big bed. Have a microwave in room so can buy food at minimarket & self preheat. Wifi at room also really good. No time limit for check in, love it! From this hotel we can see the river of Togetsukyo Bridge and have free rental bicycle so really easy to get around arashiyama. But just remember that it is a Love Hotel so prefer for...

"The Koubai suite was wonderful. The outdoor bath is very private and peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the private garden was lovely. This is my favourite room in Japan so far!"

"10-minute walk from the train, 3-minute walk from the bus stop. New and very nice hotel. Toilet and shower were in separate rooms. Made things a little awkward with the sink in the shower room, but not a big issue. Very clean and nice room. Helpful staff."
