"Our host, who doesn't live in the house, gave us free run of the place since no one else had rented the other bedroom. The place was comfortable but not updated. Our host was very pleasant and accommodating and we enjoyed visiting with her. She provided us with a nice breakfast using eggs from her own hens."

The furnishings were very nice (and realizing it's an historic building) it just looked very tired, the walls, bathroom, etc. At least our room did. In addition there was an adjoining door to the room next door that didn't block the sound at all from that room. You could hear just about everything coming from there. "This is an ideal stop for those looking to get away from standard, modern hotels. The old house (inc restaurant) is presented very much as it was in its heyday. The complimentary tour was informative and entertains. Most bedrooms are in buildings set around the plantation and thoughtfully decorated but with a/c and good shower facilities.breakfast was limited to a choice of two dishes (plus juice, fruit, etc) perfectly adequate and served in another out building which facilitated a walk through...
