"Stayed for three nights over Xmas. The walk from the pub to the accommodation was across a muddy unpaved carpark. Access to the room was via a combination door lock and privacy in the room afforded by blinds at the door ,room windows. Unfortunately there was no internal lock on the door and gaps in the blinds afforded a view into the room from outside. The room was cold on arrival and took hours to warm up. "Wingrove House is a welcoming small hotel in the heart of the historic village of Alfriston, just off the South Downs Way. It has been sympathetically restored to make it a comfortable, modern hotel. The staff are friendly and the rooms are spotless. There is a comfortable lounge and I enjoyed sitting there with a book in the evening. Breakfast was also delicious and the restaurante service was great."
