"Considering the price charged, I am very disappointed with the level of service and facilities provided, which do not meet the standards expected from a hotel positioning itself as a high-end establishment. While the room itself is pleasant, the bathroom is completely inadequate. It is extremely small (approximately 2.5 m²), with a bathtub, toilet, and sink all cramped into a very limited space, making it difficult to move comfortably. In addition, its condition is clearly outdated, with faded pink tiles typical of the 1960s, which do not in any way reflect the standard expected of a hotel in 2026. Furthermore, the service fell short, particularly at the time of my departure. After requesting assistance with my luggage, I waited more than 10 minutes without any action being taken. I eventually had to go to the reception myself, where several staff members were present, yet none had made any effort to assist. I was then told that the person in charge was busy and that, if I did not want to waste time, I should handle my luggage myself. Such a response and attitude are unacceptable for a hotel of this category. I sincerely regret this experience, especially as there are many hotels in Tokyo that are far more modern and offer significantly better service for a similar price."

"READ BEFORE YOU BOOK: IF YOU BOOK THE ANNEX YOU ARE IN AN OLD BUILDING THAT LOOKS DIRTIER AND LESS APPEALING. I’m not a picky traveler and I hate giving bad reviews, unfortunately the annex booking isn’t advertised as much as I would like and the pictures are not of the actual rooms, they are of the new building better rooms. Because of this I gave a 2 star review, otherwise it’s was doable, I stayed for 6 nights and it’s a great location to get all around Tokyo - it would have been just a typical tiny 3 star Tokyo hotel but because of the false advertising and lack of notification I had to give a poor review. It definitely isn’t the cleanest, nor pretty hotel but it gets the job done if you’re looking for something cheap and you just sleep in the room. The king bed was a huge plus because Tokyo hotels usually have tiny beds so that was great. Lastly, the laundry is in the main building, very old machines and take coins only, you need to bring your own detergent which is annoying because other hotels supply it but it’s an easy pick up next door in 7/11. Overall, would I stay again, No. Was it doable for the price and king bed - yes."

"This hotel is excellent and I would definitely stay here again if I return to Tokyo. The rooms are small but you have everything you need and they are very clean, nice touch giving guests pyjamas and slippers too. The staff are so helpful and the breakfast here is probably the best I’ve had anywhere in the world, lots of choice and excellent quality. A great base to explore Tokyo "

"We had an incredible experience staying here. Located in Chiyoda area, it's a quick subway to many tourist locations, with a station in the basement of hotel. Chiyoda is located near government buildings, so the area is clean and felt very safe. Staff is extremely accommodating and helpful. Everyday, our room was thoroughly cleaned. We decided to have breakfast pre-ordered during our stay, which we recommend because the options (continental, Japanese breakfast, American breakfast, and a la carte) at Origami restaurant in the hotel are delicious and a great way to start the day before adventures around Tokyo. We had a couple days when we worked out at the gym, which provides essential workout needs. Our room itself was amazing: the premier corner king. With nearly panoramic view of the city, we were in awe of our 25th window perspective. The bed was extra large, which made our sleep more comfortable. We opted to keep our sheets the entire stay to help with Capitol Hotel’s sustainability goals. The bathroom includes a double vanity, with a stunning bathtub + shower with views of the city. Countless amenities, ideal location, and exceptional staff make The Capitol Hotel Tokyu a perfect place to stay!"
