"Cant beat the location. Just next to York Minster and tons of restaurants. Walking distance to the Shambles and almost everything. The only issue that actually makes our stay not comfortable is that the hotel does not have Air conditioner. We were there during heat wave and this make the stay in the room really unbearable. The temperature in the room was so much higher than the outside. The staff was nice and try to give us 2 fans and a bucket of ice. Still felt very hot. The breakfast was set...

"The room was clean and comfortable with a very roomy bed. The staff were friendly and helpful both at the reception and at the bar/restaurant. We did not have the breakfast but it looked nice! "

"The hotel was excellent. Beautiful building with historic features throughout. We loved the 'lodge-style' room in the courtyard, brilliantly quiet and well decorated. Clean and modern with great facilities including: iron and ironing board, tea/coffee tray and in-room safe. The TV was a large wide-screen. Would have wanted a second bedside table as one was missing but that's being picky! Would definitely stay again as the location a short walk from the station and Mickelgate was ideal!"

I’ve stayed here for a music festival in Whitby 3 times and booked again for next year whilst there this year. Highly recommend. "

"Well positioned for access to all parts of York. The owners ensure that the guests are welcome, comfortable and well provided for Any issues? Access to parking is a little tight for larger vehicles but ample and secure. Otherwise it is as close to perfection as one could expect. "

"The room was spotless ,the lovely head housekeeper helped me get into the room because the battery in the door lock had died, only took 10 minutes to sort , lovely room with bath which I enjoy after my long walks ,I had a fabulous break ,will definitely stay here again , very quiet room and considering it was school holidays quite remarkable !"
