We had a nice comfortable room, bed was comfy, pillows were a tad hard but still had a good nights sleep. Food very nice and staff were very welcoming and friendly, would definately stay again 🙂

Friendly staff and i know the room was only around £60 but stains on wall not really acceptable - looked like a drink had be thrown. Also bathroom door looked like it had been punched and repaired poorly

Stayed here a good few times whilst away with work Rooms are a reasonable rate - bit tired but clean Staff always polite and welcoming 20% discount in the pub on food was good and managed to cater for my egg allergy with good diligence

This was an older building, so it had a few areas that didn’t work well. (Room size, the loo, noisy hallway) The staff is excellent, eager to help and quickly answered any questions we had. The food in the pub was very nice and the service was great.

Cracking location for the University

The room was dated however the bed was very soft and comfortable (Rm4) and the shower was excellent! Having the restaurant and pub below was very convenient and the 20% discount was great too! The parking at the front and rear was shared with the pub customers so was a challenge around 5pm but that eased off as the night wore on so overnight parking was not an issue.

Bed comfortable, room nice and quiet. Staff friendly. Had to get my son to remove the spiders from the cobwebs in the room. One main light and desk light broken. But for the price it was value for money. Convenient for local transport to Hull City Centre.

This place is a Maze, getting to your room is an experience to say the least, the breakfast was late with almost raw bacon & cold beans. Butter for the toast was frozen solid and unusable. My advice? Stay somewhere else

bedroom nice and clean and bed very comfy we were a disabled couple and the bedroom was at back of the hotel. it was up a series set of stairs along a fairly long corrador through at least 8 fire doors an up and down stairs. certainly not any good for elderly or disabled. no hot water and the sink plug would not hold the water. Breakfast was excellent. music in bar was to loud.

Heating not working in the room and the carpet was filthy, restaurant was closed and rentokil was on site, the corridors and rooms are outdated and the hotel needs refurbishment drastically.

Lack of consideration by the kitchen staff for paying guests staying above - very noisy.. Police knocking on the door at 3am in order to arrest a neighbour.. Overall cleanliness not great, mouldy shower curtain, stained walls, dirty carpets

Good budget stay

I have stayed here a few times and it is very consistent. Friendly staff, good food and drink, very good value, just opposite the university so good location. My main issue is they don't provide plant based milk even though they have vegan options for breakfast meals! The staff said it isn't on their order list. Please get some soya milk for non dairy tea and coffee! Also the water in the tea urn was luke warm. The staff said it was Greene King policy. Ridiculous. The coffee was piping hot.

Friendly Staff but Tired Looking Room

Easy and quick check in and friendly staff. Hotel was very convenient for where I needed to be. However, the room was disappointing. I wasn't expecting much for what I paid but I felt that the room was very tired and worn and fell below my expectations. There was a large stain on the wall that looked like someone had thrown a drink at it. The carpets looked dirty and old. Not all the lights in the room worked and the taps didn't work well. Having said that, for one night and the short time I was in the room, it was comfortable and did the job.

I attend a conference in Hull every year and the hotel is very close to meeting building. I just cross the road to attend the conference. It is an old building but the room is clean and the bed was comfortable.

The staff on arrival were frendly and helpful room was normal but bath mat had what looked like blood on it and bath towels had yellow stains on them both food was good as always waiter was polite and friendly drinks serve was nice and polite breakfast lady was a little rude food was ok
