"We were enroute to Yorkshire from Somerset with a planned trip to Hardwick Hall necessitating an overnight stop. This hotel close to junction 29 of the M1 was ideal for our needs. The staff were all charming and very helpful and the food was excellent. We did have a minor problem with our room but without asking we were immediately upgraded to a superior room. We would recommend this hotel to all travellers."

"Very basic. Hotel room wasn’t what I thought it would be. There were hardly any plug sockets and everything was hard work for example the kettle situation was very faffy. Also the bathroom fan was so loud. Bed was comfortable but it just didn’t live up to expectations. The foyer was very meh! I arrived on a Sunday and there was no food available so I had to Deliveroo. Not what it appears to be online."

"Parts of the hotel I saw were tired, holes in the carpet, poor repairs. My room was clean, the bathroom was not so good - paint flaking off the walls from damp, dead spiders. Didn't expect much for the price I paid, but think I could have paid less. Signs everywhere telling you to pay for parking, so whilst in the carpark before checking in. Entering the hotel there were another 2 signs saying you must pay for parking at the start of your stay, to then be told at the front desk I didn't need to pay - slightly annoying."

"Very disappointing stay. The room I booked was already occupied when I arrived. I was moved to a smaller room that did not match what I paid for three people, and my children had to find accommodation elsewhere. The place was not very clean and had an unpleasant smell. The kitchen was dirty. I did not even wait for breakfast. I chcked out very early in the morning."
