"Beautiful room, but lots of stairs."

"Coming into Edinburgh, I really wanted to relax and take a shower after a long journey of traveling. The shower unfortunately only produced hot water for a few moments before becoming freezing cold. I then tried to relax with tv, and I tried repeatedly to get subtitles because I’m hard of hearing and although I manage this all the time wherever I am, it wouldn’t work. These are small issues that can be easily remedied, but the Gifford House operates entirely digitally. So there are no humans...

"-The Frederick House Hotel was a great place to stay. The location is excellent. So close to many of the sites. The city is walkable but there also buses close by. Lots of shopping and restaurants to eat at in walking distance. You can buy a 15 pound voucher for a place across the street called Rabble for breakfast. They serve big breakfasts so it's worth the price. -We loved our room on the 4th floor. Comfortable beds. The room was clean. We really enjoyed the loft and would watch TV there...

"We had a great stay. I was concerned about the self check-in, but it was easy and went very smoothly. The room is small, but it is very nice and updated and clean. A good location as well, walking distance to Old Town if you’re up for a longer walk."

"Please note this guesthouse had 3 floors and no elevators. But owner Roy took my bags up to the 3rd floor. I had to drop them off 10 am and check in was later. Thanks! Also they do not have breakfast at this time. But the are several pubs and restaurants around."

"Due to changes in travel plans, I cancelled my stay at the property over a month before the date and immediately notified Expedia and the property directly. Over the course of the next 5 weeks, I asked the property's owner numerous times not to use my credit card to charge for the stay. Unfortunately, claiming some "cancellation policy" wording, he did. Kudos to Expedia for writing to the owner and for trying to resolve the issue. But it is apparently up to him. Bottom line, I paid dearly for a...
