Tanah Gajah was by far the most relaxing vacation my wife and I have ever had. From our villa with infiti pool looking on to the rice paddies to the private walled accomodation, the extensive beautifully designed gardens, wonderful food by chef Dean, everything superb! Staff couldn’t do enough and everyone, from ground staff to housekeeping to management should be proud of your customer services, a truly fantastic experience, my wife and I can’t wait to come back.

The hotel is not overstated, and has great energy. Staff really friendly and cute - other guests nice too. Some really great views, fantastic free yoga and an amazing spa in the forest. Also love Ubud - very spiritual and artistic area. Traffic a grind but that's the whole of Bali for you, especially at xmas

We spent 4 days here. If you want privacy, this is the place to come - you have your own villa (with walled garden, deck and plunge pool), the "room" service is great. You'll have your breakfast on your deck (monkey situation permitting) or inside the villa. Talking about monkeys - the name "Monkey Forest" is not there for marketing only. It was an excellent experience! We were greeted with their staff upon arrival and we were kindly shown around the Dining corner in the restaurant located in the resort and then we were taken to our one bed private villa and pool, and given a 'Happy Honeymoon' cake which was delicious! It is a great place to stay. Lovely villa and especially the private pool. Staff are delightful and really look after you. The spa was the highlight for us...First class in every respect! Breakfasts in villa are great with plenty of choices. Other restaurants ok but plenty of choice nearby as well.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon. We were delighted with our villa, which had an outdoor bathtub, two showers (indoor and outdoor). All with hot water. We had a private plunge pool as well, and lovely outdoor area with a daybed and dining table. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly. The location of the hotel is a bit further from the main Ubud, however it was really pretty resort you really did not need to leave if you didn't want to. The swimming pool area was lush....

Wow!! What an incredible villla! We arrived in sanur after 6 nights in Ubud. We were warmly welcomed with an ice cold drink and tapas, then taken to the villa which blew our minds. It was huge, spotlessly clean and the pool and outdoor area, including an outdoor shower, were incredible. The property and pool were cleaned ever day and the mini bar restocked. Very relaxing hotel approx 25mins drive from Ubud. Great spa service and the food (considering it was Vegan) was pretty amazing.

Absolutely amazing place -- so much more than expected. Staff were extremely friendly and service was second to none (bringing breakfast to the room etc, and it was delicious). The villa was huge, as was the pool, and absolutely beautifully done. nothing quite like waking up with a pool at the end of your bed in the sunshine ! The hotel's shuttle/free taxi to Sanur was great, available whenever needed and unlike some hotels it ran until 11pm giving plenty of time to have dinner and drinks out.

We stayed in the Premier Deluxe room and it was superb!! The staff are so friendly at this hotel and the room itself very quiet and clean and new. We love it. We planned to stay 1 night and stayed 5. If you are into surfing the location is superb. Ripcurl is a 5 min stroll away and has awesome equipment for rent as well great Yoga nearby

We stayed here for 3 nights in early February. What stands out about this boutique hotel is the total attention to detail. It is rare that the pictures displayed on a website match reality. But the reality is actually better. Staff are vigilant and yet not intrusive, often offering free ginger water while we lazed by the pool. The staff were so lovely, really helpful and the facilities on site are also amazing! The food was really nice and the rooms are really modern, clean and tidy. Would highly recommend booking the villa if you are going to be staying here! Only downside water in shower was slightly cold!

Had a great villa with a private pool. Awesome views over the valley. Breakfasts were very tasty with a nice variety of options.
