"Great slice of cabin in the woods humble abode. Clean and warm. You will need a car with AWD and snow tires if visiting in the winter. Beware though, there are monkeys in the woods and they come out in the warm late afternoon. While they're incredible to see, they're smart so keep your food close, snap some pictures and steer clear of them. "

"We stayed for 6 nights at this lovely family-run guesthouse. It is welcoming, cosy and clean in a quiet but charming village. Breakfast was always tasty, varied and fuelled our hours of snowboarding. The triple room with the private bathroom was generous in size, comfy and warm. Hot baths post slopes were a highlight of every day, and the laundry, space to store snowboards etc were helpful. "Was a great stay at this great little inn. It may be a bit different than what most western guest expect to find, but I went for the Ryokan experience and was not disappointed. Staff were really great, helpful in scheduling transport to the monkey park and to the train station. Room was clean, good size, and had everything I needed. The town itself is a cute little village and it was a great experience going to all 9 baths in the town. The baths themselves could use a bit more attention... some...
