"Very disappointing for a Hilton property. Place is in need of major renovations to be of Hilton quality. Elevator floors were dirty. Rooms were damp…cooling, de-humidifying system is not strong enough for this climate. My refrigerator didn’t work. (Yes I could have called maintenance but who has time for that on vacation.). There were resort fees but I didn’t feel the amenities were enough to justify a resort fee."

"We had a great stay in the deluxe ocean view room. Spectacular views, great beach to swim at. The restaurants were really good too, we just were bummed we couldn’t get room service the night we arrived. Other than that, amazing food at lava and rum fire. Coffee shop onsite was great too. Already planning or next trip"

"The staff were so polite and accommodating our entire stay. The room was clean, neat and comfortable. Royal Sonesta will be my family’s go-to resort when we visit Lihue. "

"I’m going to start with the negatives so people have a heads up. The negatives: 1. Balconies on majority of rooms aren’t really balconies. They are triangular shaped perches large enough for 2 chairs squished together and don’t face the water, they face the wall. 2. Parking - very tight spaces and beware of parking beneath a palm tree. The birds are prolific with their waste and it’s difficult to remove from the cars 3. Noise.if you want quieter experience do not stay in north side of property as the nightly luau parties are very loud. Also don’t have a pool-facing room as the entertainment is very loud The positives: 1. Staff- majority of the staff was excellent. Friendly, helpful, courteous etc. 2. Activities - bikes, cornhole, pool tables, hot tub etc. lots to do. 3. Food- everything we had was delicious."

"The room did not look like the photos on Expedia and it was very old. The bed creaked so much and the roosters and cats outside were very loud. The walls are super thin. The cleaning staff also didn’t fill up our shower stuff before we got there so it was empty and we kept having to ask every day to get more shampoo, etc because the next day they took away our new bottles when cleaning. It’s also not close to the airport anymore because of a road closure so you have to go in a windy road that has no lights in the dark."

"Almost everything was excellent. Parking: almost didn’t have one for me! Luckily got one space left in the back parking lot. One of the twin beds was so lopsided that it was very uncomfortable to sleep on. Please upgrade that bed for the next guest in Room #2. All else was excellent and I will keep coming back to stay here!"
