"I can’t say enough lovely things about Aurora Lodge Hotel. We stayed here for one night as part of a trip down the south coast and we wished we’d booked for longer! The rooms are gorgeous; so pretty and rustic and, while compact, have everything you need. The bar area was a lovely space for a catch up with our travel group after dinner, and an excellent choice of food was provided at the complimentary breakfast. And the view you have while eating is stunning. The whole place is just peace, quiet, and tranquility. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use the hot tubs, as we arrived later than expected due to a storm that delayed our journey, but they looked great. We also didn’t get to experience dinner at the hotel itself, as the kitchen was closed while we were there. But there were enough other options nearby. We will 100% be staying here again if we’re lucky enough to return to Iceland in the future. Just a short note about the road in to the hotel - slow down as soon as you turn off the main road! Lots of pot holes make for a bumpy ride. But you’ll be fine if you take your time."

Any larger person would have difficulty being comfortable in there [and I am not that large] - also, there was nowhere to put your soap and shampoo. Otherwise things were good, helpful staff, decent breakfast and so on."
