The property is a motel. The location is good. There is an outside bar/restaurant right across the parking lot that’s very nice.
The rooms are dated and need updating. Our AC unit was leaking, the carpet was wet all around it. Carpets were dirty. We enjoyed the pool area, but the pool could use some maintenance also. The hot tub is not hot, but luke warm.
The room itself was great and was very clean, however, there was absolutely no visits from housekeeping during our stay. No cleans towels were brought to us, no trash taken out. We had to get fresh towels twice during our stay.
The place is somewhat dated and could really use an update. Bed was comfortable though. The lighting was awful. Very dark even with the (very few) lights on. The pool needs a bit of attention and the hot tub wasn’t even on, it was just hot water. Many times when I went into the office there was nobody there and I had to come back. It wasn’t the worst stay I’ve ever had and I would stay again.
Every room is a suite, but prices vary, and the staff is young. They need a checklist to make sure each room has what they need (shampoo, cups, A/C on…) It’s Pretty around the pool and hot tub was big. I like the mile walk to town in the morning when it’s quiet and calm next to the lake. The entire island is relaxing with great restaurants, yummy perch and walleye bites at the Village Pump. I would return in a minute. Looking forward to going again.
Clean room . Hot tub was nice and roomy. Pool was very cold cause it’s still early in the season but it is heated if you ask them to turn it on. Perfect view of the lake from the pool and rooms. Nice restaurant across the street with good food
When we arrived to check in at 4pm, there was a note to call a phone number on the reception desk. No answer. Left a message. After about 10 minutes got a message that the receptionist would be right there. After another 10 minutes, she arrived and gave us our keys. The hotel had no bicycles for free use as mentioned online. The pool was dirty and the next morning, it was closed for "maintenance". No bars of soap in the bathroom. Half full shower gel tube, shampoo and conditioner was available however. Overall, we were sad to see the condition of the hotel as it had declined from when we stayed there 10 years prior.
Absolutely doesn’t not worth what I paid for ( $400 for night) I don’t know even why it is calling Resort because it’s like cheap motel small stinky dirty dusty room just waste of money

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
The hotel was very nice a bit out of date and a little expensive, but it was on an island, the staff was great and let my family who was camping use the pool. Since it was the only choice on Kelly’s Island I would stay agian.
Beautiful property with a pool. Our room was a suite with a sofa bed in the separate room. Microwave and fridge in room. Just cleaned prior to arrival.
We've been to Kelleys many times, and we've always been interested in staying at the resort. My wife and I decided to stay there for a night to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was friendly and accomodating, and we didn't voice any concerns due to the short nature of our stay, but I will say this. Others have observed a lack of light in the suites, and that still appears to be the case. To make the suites more functional a bathroom should be added to the second floor. There needs to be working fans in the shower area. Cleaning staff covered most of the bases but left debris in some places, didn't clean out the coffee maker or ice bucket, etc. Both the vending machine and ice machine were out of order, but staff accomodated the later with a bag of ice in their freezer. In general some updates would go a long way, which is why I didn't give it five stars but we enjoyed our visit overall.
The room was very spacious and slept up to six in real beds. We loved that there was a separate upstairs with two beds, large closet and sitting area. The location was super convenient to both town and the West Bay Inn for sunsets.
We arrived to check in at 3:45 and there was not a soul in the office for us to check in. Then when we went to check out a day early, because the entire island was pretty much closed for the season. We checked out at 7:15, again, not a sole in the office and the lights were all out and doors locked. We left our key cards in the room and left. Hope they realized we checked out on Saturday and don't charge us extra days. It said to drop the keys off in the office upon checking out, but that is kind of hard to do when the office is closed and locked. We definitely won't be back!
A newer hotel with beautiful grounds. The room was actually a suite.

Being on Lake Erie is very nice. Kelleys island is quaint and well worth a visit.
Interior is in need of updates and new carpeting.
Lighting is very poor, especially around the pool.
Understaffed.
Bicycles used to be available here and bugs used to be swept from the exterior by former owner of property.
