"Excellent overnight stay . Everything you could want except maybe evening entertainment. Everything was clean , staff all very friendly and helpful. Food was also extremely good . One of best hotel breakfasts I have experienced. Did not use the spa or other facilities on offer but everything we experienced was extremely good or excellent. Will hopefully return in the summer and maybe combine with some golf."

"The hotel is an old inn in Johnshaven, a fishing village at least 10 miles outside of Montrose, in Aberdeenshire not Angus. Lovely setting near the harbour. The family room had a double bed and two single beds in a separate section. Shower room was small but well maintained. A small heater kept the room warm which was good because the weather was terrible on the first day. The bar/ dining area was lovely, the staff were all super and the food was excellent. Seafood was a speciality although there was a wide choice of dishes. People obviously came from all round to eat there and there was a lively atmosphere. We would certainly go back."

"The house is huge and beautiful with every possible appliance! The farm animals are so friendly and weren’t fazed at all by my two dogs. Anthony was a wonderful host also. There was an issue with the water but Anthony kept us going with bottled supplies and it wasn’t an issue at all. Each of the bedrooms has its own beautiful bathroom and the balconies are lovely, especially when the peacock comes up to say hi! I would highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again! "
