Beautiful, clean, and spacious property with many traditional features and nice architectural details, close to bus stops and the underground; plus shops, cafes, and food available nearby. Host is very helpful and gave a clear explanation of how things worked, what services were available, and how to get in touch. Sake bath on offer is well worth a good soak after a long couple days on your feet exploring the area. Tatami-style mats and futons for the sleeping arrangements may sound a little off-putting to some Western travellers, however it's perfectly comfortable. In fact I'd say I slept better here than in the bed elsewhere on the trip. Would stay here again, given the opportunity.

We had an amazing time! This is a great location near Gion with easy access to the neighborhood and all of the sights. On top of this, the property is spacious and comfortable and the hosts are extremely welcoming and helpful.

Great place in the middle of Gion

Great authentic Kyoto home! We truly enjoyed our stay; location next to many restaurants was super convenient, sleeping at futons, taking a wooden hinoki bath and enjoying Japanese breakfast was a great experience.

This place was a dream, I thought the listing was too good to be true and was delighted with it! Yuka who checked us in and communicated with us during the trip was so incredibly helpful, we felt right at home. Easy walk to some key spots we wanted to see and the subway line.

Amazing stay

Loved it. The place used to be a sake brewery and the place smells like sake. The sake bath was also very nice. The place was very clean and special.

Best honeymoon ever!

Our hostess was incredibly sweet and helpful. The house was more than enough space and in a perfect location. It was a godsend after staying in a tiny room in Tokyo! We would absolutely stay there again. 10/10.
