This is a lovely hotel with very clean, comfortable rooms, an excellent Italian restaurant and very friendly staff, but despite the name, it is not very close to Kyoto Station by foot. It is located 600-800m away from the station. Additionally, Kyoto Station is not near the main sights in Kyoto such as the Gion - the Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Line and Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Line are much closer.
Nice and quaint hotel about a 10 minute walk from the train station and all the shops. Staff is awesome and helpful. Bar area is good - they did shut it down for a group so that was meh. But this is a good spot. Safe and good for a family.
I loved this hotel. Extremely comfortable bed and pillow, very nice staff in a quiet area with a super close bus stop and Kyoto station just a short walk away. The only thing was that there was not very good footstep suppression - we were able to hear the people above us with every step they took, which is not appreciated after long days where we need every bit of sleep
Was walking distance from the Kyoto station. Hotel was very clean, well maintained and as good as the pictures which is sometimes not the case. Rooms were meticulously maintained. Breakfast buffet was amazing.

1. Great Service, courteous and authentic, ( reception & house keeping etc …)
2. Guess centric care and Sophistication that deliver Japanese spirit better than some 5 star hotels
3. Aesthetics and Interior design, great ambiences ( in all dimensions both for room, and public area.)
Clean hotel and room. Recommend future guest to double check window view- we did not know window would be covered with window film. Lobby/breakfast area/ bar super clean. Would love to stay again
The staff was very nice and helpful, room was clean and surprisingly roomy for Japan. We even got a crib. Will recommend for families ( we have 2 under 2).
It was great at Mercure Kyoto Station. The Buffett in the morning was really good. Many choices. The location is perfect and the hotel in general is very clean.
